Touch of Magic is still a magical tune all these years later. One of my favourites from the old days in the music bus in Ottawa. Ottawa had a touch of magic and musical genius in those days. You never know where its going to touch down.

Hello. I just recently heard "Touch of Magic" again after many years, thanks to the oldies station, "Vinyl 95.3". I hadn't heard this beautiful song since I was in high school in the '70's, but as soon as I heard it, I was transported back to my youth, and was reminded of what a magnificent voice James Leroy had. After listening to "Touch of Magic", I researched James Leroy and was very sad to read that he had passed away, so very long ago, at the height of his career. He was so young, and so unbelievably talented. What a shame and a major loss for the music industry. He was truly one of Canada's most talented musicians/songwriters. Thank you to his family for launching this website. His lovely voice and sweet face will live forever, thanks to modern technology and the internet!

Sincerely, Shelley Austin, Toronto

Today on the local 1440 AM Wetaskiwin radio station I heard James' "Touch of Magic" (all oldies music and few commercials). I searched for the song details on the web and found this wonderful site. Thanks for keeping our homegrown talent alive in this way.

just a touch a magic, i remember very well, i love that song, and i just wish i had kept the old 45. as well as some of his other hits. i have found trying to get a copy of some of his songs impossible. i just hope that one day that a greatest hits & songs he did would come back, in album or cassette or best of all cd format.

Love this and wish it was easier to find "Make It All worthwhile" and other songs by Major Hoople's and such like. Such talented people but back in the 70's if you couldn't break into the US market, it wasn't easy for them. And now not easy for us to find their music to be able to enjoy! Thanks so much for this web site where we could get a very enjoyable taste!

James was another one of the most underated singer and songwriters around. When l hear Lady Ellen, Touch of Magic it still gives me chills. All the songs he wrote where right from the heart. James l hope you have finally found the peace and love you always longed for. You must of felt so alone in life, you are truly missed brother.
