I have always loved James Leroy's music from the time I heard him live in the early 1970's......His music was different from what was considered mainstream at the time..Thanks for bringing back all the wonderful memories and for keeping James Leroy's music and his memory alive..Wish he was still with us today.....

Thanks for this website on James Leroy! l bought a 45 rpm of Touch Of Magic at our Kmart store so looooong ago. James was such a gifted person and after all these years remain to love his music. Only wish l could of had a chance to see him live. We had many good bands come out of Kitchener, Copperpenny, Yukon, Major Hooples Boarding House etc. While James is sadly gone his music lives on.

I only met James for only about 4-6 hours in the early 70s. It was one of the early sessions I recorded at Studio Six in Montreal, a demo of The James Leroy Band. I remember Val was singing backup (I had played with Val in Exibit A). I loved the songs (It's all Worth While, When the War is Over, Lampton County, Martin Town Diary and Anniversary Song). I still have a 7 1/2 half-track copy of that Demo (digitized a few years ago) whch I'll get to Paul for the site if he wants it.

I fondly remember my friendship with Jimmy. He was with James Leroy and Denim at the time and I was in Chucklebait. One day he was over visiting and he gave me his denim overalls (we were both of the extra-large variety). I wore them several times when performing. When I heard that Jimmy passed away, it seemed like time stood still for a moment. God bless.

Many good memories of working with James and Band at GRT in the day. Recordings, like movies, let the artist live forever and the music of James Leroy is always a pleasant visit.
